About Elliot Rose

Clinical expertise meets academic leadership

Senior Lecturer in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy at Buckinghamshire New University and former full-time Lecturer, Clinical Tutor, and Supervisor at the Charlie Waller Institute, University of Reading.

Why I built Elliot Rose Therapy

I’ve spent the past decade helping people translate evidence-based CBT into everyday life. From NHS services to university training clinics, I repeatedly saw the same need: structured, compassionate programmes that prioritise accountability and results without losing humanity.

As Senior Lecturer in CBT, I train therapists to think critically, deliver measurable change, and stay grounded in their clients’ realities. My private programmes draw on that academic rigour while staying practical and collaborative.

Experience

Clinical background & qualifications

BABCP-accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist Senior Lecturer in CBT, Buckinghamshire New University Former Clinical Tutor & Supervisor, Charlie Waller Institute

I began my CBT career within NHS Talking Therapies, working as a Senior Psychological Therapist supporting people with moderate to severe anxiety and depression. Alongside direct client work, I led anger management, mindfulness, and psychoeducation groups designed to help people become their own therapist.

At the Charlie Waller Institute (University of Reading) I taught and supervised on the CBT Diploma, helping trainee therapists translate theory into precise, ethical practice. That experience sharpened my ability to spot what makes interventions work—and to explain concepts in a way people can immediately apply.

Today I split my time between teaching future CBT clinicians, developing evidence-based materials, and working with private clients through structured programmes.

  • Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (University of Reading)
  • BWRT therapist, NLP Master Practitioner, Ericksonian hypnotherapist
  • Regularly contributes training to NHS services and professional conferences
